Coming Soon! The Big Black Friday/Cyber Monday Based Book Sale

Seeking Authors!

A few times a year, I sponsor Based Book Sales. Several dozen authors come together and offer their books for $0.99 or free for a week. We all mutually promote the sales to our social media and email lists. It’s an excellent way for us to reach out to new readers, and it’s a great way for readers to take a chance on new authors with low risk. We usually move anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 ebooks. The next Big Based Book sale will run Wednesday, November 22, 2023, 12:00 AM PST through Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 12:00 AM PST to coincide with the usual Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotions, the weekend after Thanksgiving in America.

I’m looking for authors who’d like to participate.

Here are the details how the sale works.

Authors can either run an Amazon countdown sale at $0.99 for the entire period, or otherwise ensure that the price is either $0.99 or free for the entire period. I prefer Amazon links but will accept other links.

If your books have already been in a past sale, just send me links, and you’ll be good to go.

Otherwise, to participate:

1) Send me a link to the book(s) you’d like to include. Email me, or if you don’t have my email, DM me on Twitter or Gab with your email and a link to the book (or books) you’d like to include. What books should authors offer? Ideally, the first book in a series. Entice readers in with the free or $0.99 first installment, and hope they’ll enjoy it enough to buy the rest at regular price. Of course all based books are welcomed, fiction or non-fiction.

2) I’ll review your books and let you know if I think they’d be a good fit for the sale. I’ll normally approve anything that looks credible except content that verges on erotica. And if I’ve previously approved you, you should be good to go.

3) Participants set the price and confirm with me when it’s set.

4) I’ll send participants the sale link by noon (CDT) Wednesday November 22.

5) We all mutually promote the sale to our blogs, social media, and email lists starting Wednesday 6pm CDT.

I want everyone to have a chance to make sure all the links are working, and that I haven’t overlooked someone and forgotten to include their books. So, I’ll ask you all to hold off on pushing and promoting the sale until Wednesday 6pm CDT. If you need the link earlier, please let me know, and I’ll send it, but it will be to a placeholder page until then.

Feel free to encourage other based authors to reach out to me to get on my list. Do make sure, though, that they understand the “Based Books” theme of the sale, so we can avoid the hassle of woke authors triggered and appalled at what they’ve stumbled into.
