An adult human female?
No, not by the time the advocates of gender affirmation ideology are through trying to define the term.
Not long after I began writing The Wise of Heart last summer, I came across the trailer for Matt Walsh’s excellent documentary, “What is a Woman?” The concept is simple - Walsh went around asking therapists, gender affirmation activists, protesters, and many others to explain themselves. Their inability to answer simple questions like “What is a woman?” exposed the shallow intellectual foundation of gender ideology. I’m not a big fan of the Daily Wire, but give credit where it’s due: this is an excellent expose full of wit and genuine insight. Here’s the trailer. You can find the full documentary on YouTube. If you have an interest in the subject, it makes for a good introduction.
I suppose I should not have been surprised to discover how shallow are the intellectual foundations of the gender affirmation movement. More will be explained and revealed as the experts testify in the fictional Andrews trial, but if you dig into it, you will find that the fictional experts of The Wise of Heart do a far more credible, coherent, and consistent job defending gender ideology than their real-life counterparts in Matt Walsh’s documentary. If I depicted the gender ideology advocates in true-to-life form, the story would be over, their advocacy would collapse under its own weight, and there would be little conflict to make the story interesting. The Wise of Heart presents a “steel-manned” version of the gender ideology argument.
In the previous episode, President Buchmann Testifies, we saw gender ideology explained in a friendly cross-examination. In the next episode, we’ll see how President Buchmann holds up under a hostile cross-examination from Senator Travis.
