“…listen to Nancy and ‘just say no.’” Clever reference and characterization, warning against the hallucinating and mind numbing academic and media “drugs” pushed by today’s social justice progressives.

I said "listen to Nancy and just say 'no'" to my kids and got the "Pelosi?" answer back. Made me feel old! But at least it gave me good material for the story.

If apologizing, the person left “wouldn’t have been me.” The true goal is for individuals to give up their identity … your self. “Wise of heart” seems to indicate integrity – being true to self?

Admittedly, I picked the name primarily because it was the second half of the proverb from which "inherit the wind" was taken. But it fits nicely, because being "wise of heart" suggests an integration of intellect and emotion, acting with discernment, wisdom, and benevolence.

This section is chock full of good lines and ideas. It's a rolling climax to transition into the Act 3 dénouement. First, Castillo and Travis had to resolve their open issues. Then Mike had to make his decision whether to take the ticket offered to him, accept the bribe, and apologize. He's declined. Now Acey has to make her decision.
